Gait trainers give children with special needs the opportunity to bear weight on both feet, develop weight-shifting skills and balance, improve the quality of movement, and increase lower body strength. The Gator Gait Trainer helps improve endurance and overall gross motor abilities needed for walking.

The physical benefits of walking are just the beginning. Giving children the ability to walk increases their interaction with their environments and other children. Walking helps maximize their independence with daily activities and enhances learning through exploration.

The Gator Gait Trainer is lightweight and folds easily for transport. The gait trainer weighs 22 lbs. and measures 18" in width. The maximum height for the Gator gait trainer is 45" (age range 18 months to 8 years). Weight capacity is 75 lbs. The Gator gait trainer comes standard with forearm supports for children who require additional upper body support when walking. The gait trainer handle height, excluding forearm supports, adjusts from 13.5"-27".

The Gator Gait Trainer Complete comes standard with firm rubber swivel castors, and swivel lock pins that provide straight or variable tracking movement. A rear frame bumper helps protect your furniture. Standard support features include: forearm supports, pelvic pad, lateral pads, lateral strap, anti-tips, a sling seat with receiver, and ankle/thigh prompts that are great for children with moderate to more severe levels of physical involvement. Please note that the small gait trainer complete comes with a small pelvic pad (7"w x 3.5" h) while the large gait trainer complete comes with a large pelvic pad (9"w x 3.5"h) – this is the only difference between the small and large gait trainer.
