The Hippo Spica Cast Car Seat is the perfect solution for transporting children in Hip Spica Casts, Broomstick Casts, and Ilfeld splints!!!

Snug Seat, together with Britax USA, has designed the Hippo Spica Cast Car Seat specifically for children that have undergone leg and/or hip surgeries and have been placed in casts for several weeks while in recovery. The Britax HIPPO Spica Cast Car Seat is the only car seat specifically designed to safely and effectively transport children in most casts in the car.

Traditional car seats and other special needs car seats have often proven ineffective in transporting children with Hip Spica Casts, Broomstick Casts, and Ilfeld splints in the car. The Hippo Spica Cast Car Seat is the only approved car seat that ensures transportation for children in most casts, while protecting them from additional trauma.

The Hippo Spica Cast Car seat complies with FMVSS-213 standards. The maximum user height for the Hippo Spica Cast Car Seat is 49" (122.5 cm). This special needs car seat can be used in the following configurations only:
  • Rear facing (must be reclined) for children 5 lbs. (2 .3 kg) to 33 lbs. (15 kg)
  • Forward-facing (reclined) maximum weight is 33 lbs. (15 kg)
  • Forward-facing (must be upright) user weight is 34 - 65 lbs. (15.5 - 29 kg)

    PLEASE NOTE: You must still comply with US FMVSS-213 Standards that require ALL children to be positioned in the rear-facing direction until they are 20 lbs. (9 kg) AND are at least 1 year old.


    PLEASE NOTE: The Hippo Car Seat has only been crash tested and approved for use in the USA. We cannot sell the car seat outside of the USA.

    Returns: The manufacturer does not permit returns of the the Hippo Car Seat. A defective seat may be exchanged within the terms of the warranty.

    Receiving Dock Do you have a Receiving Dock? Due to the cumbersome size and weight of certain products (For example: Item #A5568-05 - Vestibulator III & Item #A5568-10 - Vestibulator IV) the manufacturer requires a Moving Company deliver these products if you do not have a receiving dock!.





    Moving Company delivery is for safety and costs an extra $275.00. This delivery service includes:

    • Delivery by a moving company.

    • The movers will consolidate the order.

    • Delivery inside to room of choice.

    • Removal of rubbish.

    • Light assembly services
