I Need Help With BALANCE...

The systems of the body that maintain balance are quite complex and interrelated. Typically, poor balance is a symptom rather than a primary diagnosis. Some causes of decreased balance include but are not limited to the following: medications, poor vision, decreased range of motion, hypotension, and inner ear dysfunction. There may be multifactorial reasons for poor balance requiring consultation with a team of medical professionals. People need to be supervised closely to ensure safety when using this type of balance equipment.

For children with certain clinical diagnoses, adaptive equipment designed to help with Balance may be beneficial to help them achieve their goals. Always check with your child's therapists before using equipment to make sure that it is appropriate. Some of the clinical diagnoses that might include but are not limited to the following: Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Gross Motor Delay, Spina Bifida, Autism, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
