The Rifton SoloLift is the answer to manual lifting. Once you use the SoloLift you’ll realize that you don’t have to find another available person for a two-person lift and can do it all by yourself! Not only is it a time saver, but it’s a "back saver" too! The possibilities are numerous for transferring in and out of positions and equipment:
Bed to Wheelchair
Wheelchair to Standing
Wheelchair to Pacer
Wheelchair to Toilet
Floor to Standing
Etc…The possibilities are endless!
The Rifton SoloLift was designed to accommodate individuals up to 275 lbs and it fits through 32" doorways. This makes it easy to use this lift in a school or rehabilitation setting for several people. No need to buy a lift for each person, rather just their own SoloVest. What a cost Savings! And with fewer back injuries for caregivers, healthcare cost, insurance and turnover of staff will be reduced as well!
The Rifton SoloVest was designed to utilize support around the trunk for most transfers. Leg Straps can be used for seated transfers if needed. They were designed to be simple to use and to still allow access to clothing for hygienic care. The Rifton SoloVest NOW comes in three sizes:
SMALL
Small Maximum User Weight = 350 lbs (158 kg)
Small Target User Trunk Circumference (Girth) = 22-34" (56-89 cm)

MEDIUM
Medium Maximum User Weight = 350 lbs (158 kg)
Medium Target User Trunk Circumference (Girth) = 28-40" (71-101 cm)

LARGE
Large Maximum User Weight = 350 lbs (158 kg)
Large Target User Trunk Circumference (Girth) = 36-60" (91-152 cm)

Please read this information from Rifton carefully about choosing the appropriate SoloVest for each individual:
"The lifting action of the SoloVest occurs anterolaterally, with comfortable vest surface area over the base of the rib cage and under the scapula. The areas of the axilla and upper chest are protected by the softer portions of the vest, and should be observed closely to assure client comfort.
Due to variety in body shape, the small SoloVest may be better suited to certain body types. The Small Vest often fits better than the Medium or Large, because it contours to smaller frames and those with less muscle tone. Because the Large SoloVest provides more surface area for body contact during lifting, it may be more comfortable for larger clients. Both the small and the large SoloVests can be used on clients up to 350 lbs.
Observe the client closely during initial lifting action: should the arms rise up and vest slip upward, slowly lower the SoloLift lifting arm, re-position the SoloVest below the belt line, tighten the straps, and encourage forward-lean positioning of the client during the initial phase of the lift. It may be the small SoloVest accommodates the particular characteristics of your client better.
Client safety is the responsibility of the caregiver at all times. Correct use of this product requires the prior approval and ongoing guidance of a qualified therapist or physician. Professional advice is necessary to determine whether use of the SoloLift is appropriate for each client."
