My name is Madelene, I am three years old and I have Muscular Dystrophy meaning low muscle tone. I'm unable to sit on my own, crawl, walk without support. But having this condition does not prevent me from wanting to be active like any other 3 year old. This is how I start my day, when I'm not in school I wake up at 10am, mom will brush my teeth, feed me breakfast, gives me breathing treatment, then do some physical therapy with mommy. Then it's time for lunch, after we go outside where I just watch my sister swing or slide on her swing set I color or learn my alphabets. Then, it's time to stand on my stander or get on my walker and learn to give a few steps. After 30 minutes I rest, meanwhile mom makes my favorite food for dinner, and I argue with my sister over the TV channels.
After dinner my sister rides her bike or scooter and I just sit with mom blowing bubbles. And that's my whole day when I'm off of appointments. When its appointment days its hectic, mom wakes me up too early at 8am so I wake up cranky, she will brush my teeth, breathing treatment, head to my doctor's appointment or physical therapy. I'm tired by then, so I whine to go home, I don't like it when mom runs errands. When we get home I rest, then my mom bothers me to get on the stander or walker, breathing treatment, shower, and bed. Every other day I have a doctor's appointment, physical therapy, or school.

I might have a movement disability but it doesn't prevent me from having fun!
