Rifton has spent a great deal of time collaborating with teachers, therapists, parents, and their designers to develop three new chairs for children with special needs. They know first hand how specialized each individual child’s seating and positioning needs can be. Rifton has developed the Rifton Seating System for children with mild to more severe physical disabilities.
Now you can choose one of three seating system configurations that will be most suitable for your child’s special needs and even customize it to offer just the right amount of support. The Stationary Chair, the Low Back Mobile Chair, and the High Back Mobile Chair are uniquely designed to provide positioning support and comfort for children with minimal to maximum support needs.
Rifton has created the Stationary Chair for children that can walk with assistance and do not need a chair with wheels. The Stationary Chair was designed for the minimally disabled child.
The Low Back Mobile Chair has been primarily designed for children with lower body support needs. This special needs chair will best suit children that require secure positioning of the lower extremities when seated.
Rifton’s High Back Mobile Chair comes standard with armrests and a high backrest to offer more support to the child’s upper body. By adding accessories to the chair’s frame, the High Back Mobile Chair can be customized to provide maximum support for the child that requires it to maintain upright sitting. The High Back Mobile Chair has been designed to meet the positioning needs of non-ambulatory children.
Available in a few sizes each, the Rifton Stationary Chair, Low Back Mobile Chair, and the High Back Mobile Chair are listed below. To start, 1) Choose the seating system that best suits your child’s special needs, 2) Select the appropriate size seat, and 3) Choose the positioning accessories you will need to customize support for your child.
