Schuchmann Marcy Anterior Rollator

Item
Schuchmann-Marcy-Rollator

The Marcy Rollator by Schuchmann, distributed by Clarke Health Care Products, is a pediatric anterior (place in front of user) rolling walker specifically designed to assist with your child's very first attempts to walk. Built with a highly maneuverable, lightweight, and durable aluminum frame, it rolls easily to build early walking skills and confidence. Equipped with height- and width-adjustable handles and comfortable grips, Marcy is engineered to grow alongside your child. For families on the go, Size 2 and Size 3 models fold effortlessly to tuck away into a car trunk.

Finding the Perfect Fit

Please refer to the Size Chart tab to determine the best fit for your child. When selecting a model, handle height is the critical measurement to ensure optimal gait mechanics and upper body alignment.

To find the correct handle height, have your child stand upright with their arms hanging naturally at their sides. Measure from the floor to the crease of their wrist. When using the rollator, the handles should align so that your child remains upright with a slight, relaxed bend in their elbow when resting their hands on the grips.

Step 1. Select Your Frame Style (Standard vs. Telescopic) and Frame Color

  • Standard Frame: Built with a fixed chassis length, this frame is lightweight and easy to maneuver, making it perfect for typical daily settings like homes, classrooms and paved sidewalks.
  • Telescopic Frame: Allows you to adjust the horizontal length of the wheelbase. Extend the frame to provide enhanced front-to-back stability and accommodate a growing child’s stride length or shorten it to maximize maneuverability in tight indoor spaces.

Step 2. Choose Optional Forearm Rests and Brakes

Optional Forearm Rests

For children who need extra trunk stability or have limited hand grip strength, shifting support from the hands to the forearms is a game-changer. It reduces upper body fatigue, promotes a more upright posture, and provides a secure, controlled foundation to improve overall gait alignment and confidence while walking.

To ensure maximum stability, forearm pads must be mounted on the telescoping model of the Schuchmann Marcy Rollator ONLY, which provides the larger base of support necessary for safe weightbearing.

Choose Your Forearm Support Style
Both styles adjust in depth, height, and angle, come as a pair, and are available in two sizes to ensure a proper, supportive fit:

  • Small: 7" L x 2.5" W
  • Medium: 9.75" L x 3" W
  • Forearm Pads with Hand Grip: Offers a standard vertical handle for a traditional grip. (Please note: This style can be equipped with hand brakes if required.)
  • Forearm Pads with Ball Grip: Features an adjustable, ball-shaped grip at the end to accommodate alternative hand positioning. (Please note: Hand brakes cannot be added to the ball grip style.)

Hand Brakes mount on arm tubes or vertical grip handle if Forearm Pads with Hand Grip is purchased. Squeeze hand brakes to slow forward movement using a cable system to activate brakes mounted on rear wheels.  Red clip will set parking brake to hold rollator in place. (Please note: Handbrakes cannot be added to Forearm Pads with Ball Grip)

Friction Brakes attach to the rear wheels to slow down the rollators speed. By putting a steady drag on the back wheels, they prevent the walker from rolling faster than the child can walk. This extra resistance gives the user something firm to push forward, helping them to stay stable and balanced.

Backward Stop Brakes prevents the rear wheels from rolling backwards/ only allows forward rotation of the back wheels. If the child stops and leans back, Marcy will not roll back. Brakes can be engaged and disengaged at rear wheel. Sold as pair.

Step 3. Choose Optional Direction Locks for Front Casters.
Direction Locks or front swivel locks will lock the front caster from swiveling. It only allows straight line motion. A button on top of the front caster activates the lock. Mounted on each front caster.

Customizable Accessories & Support Options (Sold Separately)

Tailor the Marcy to match your child's specific therapeutic and lifestyle needs with our selection of optional accessories found in the Accessories section.

  • Comfort & Convenience: Padded seat with contoured molded back support  and/or a handy storage basket for favorite toys or a blanket.

With its adaptive design and versatile features, the Marcy Rollator gives your child the supportive foundation they need to explore their world with confidence.
