Understanding Handlebars

You have chosen the size and color of a special needs adaptive bicycle or tricycle and now you need help choosing a handlebar. Which style handlebar is best for the rider?

If the rider has normal range of motion and strength in their arms, the conventional type of handlebar is likely the best option. If the individual has decreased strength or range of motion in their arms, then you may want to consider purchasing either a loop or comfi-grip handlebar. The chart below offers a comparison to help you select which is best for the individual.
