Active Sitting: Helping Kids Stay Focused and Engaged

Movement during sitting can be very beneficial to the health of the body and mind. Allowing your child to experience active movement during sitting — a wobble, a bounce, or a swivel, for example — can help keep them engaged in what’s in front of them, whether it’s their breakfast, their homework, a game or even the TV. Not only does active sitting help calm the mind, it also helps engage postural muscles, improving their strength and endurance and ultimately improving posture. If you’re looking for a good way to keep your child alert during seated activities, we recommend an active seating chair or stool from our selection.

Choosing the Right Active Seat

Adaptive Mall is staffed by a team of dedicated physical and occupational therapists, as well as parents of children with special needs. We only choose products we would use ourselves.
